4ZDM Digital Manufacturing Industrial workshop

Dr. Maxim Guc from the IREC coordination team of Platform-ZERO presented the project’s progress at a workshop organised by the 4ZDM cluster in Brussels.

Open and free to attend, the first Digital Manufacturing Industrial Workshop brought together industry leaders, researchers, and end-users to explore the latest innovations in digital manufacturing and zero-waste production.

The event showcased the transformative potential of digital solutions in manufacturing, with a strong focus on strategies to reduce waste, optimise efficiency, and accelerate the green industrial transition. With a comprehensive agenda featuring keynote speeches, project showcases, and interactive panel discussions, the one-day workshop fostered collaboration and inspired new ideas to tackle the challenges of modern manufacturing.

About Zero Defect Manufacturing (ZDM)

Zero Defects Manufacturing (ZDM) represents a transformative approach to quality assurance and control in manufacturing, aiming to eliminate defects and waste throughout a product’s entire lifecycle.

By leveraging advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and Big Data, ZDM ensures that products are manufactured “right first time,” reducing costs, enhancing efficiency, and minimising environmental impact.

As industry becomes increasingly digital, and cyber-physical production systems in manufacturing processes become increasingly important, ZDM is more than a methodology – it’s a paradigm shift for manufacturers towards intelligent, autonomous, and adaptive systems capable of monitoring, predicting, and resolving quality issues in real time.

By integrating human expertise and machine intelligence, ZDM not only addresses current challenges in manufacturing but also paves the way for a sustainable and resilient industrial future.
