IREC PhD Student Jon Gari wins E-MRS Young Researcher award for AI-Driven PV research 🏆

We’re thrilled to share that Jon Gari, one of our brilliant PhD students at IREC, has been awarded the Young Researcher Award (YRA) at the E-MRS 2025 Spring Meeting for his groundbreaking research on explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) in accelerating the research of complex materials for photovoltaic devices.

📋Jon’s presentation, titled “Explainable Artificial Intelligence-driven methodology for accelerated research of complex technologies: Case study of thin films PV kesterite-based technology”, highlights the innovative AI methodologies being developed as part of our Platform-Zero project. This research plays a crucial role in advancing our goals of reducing costs and improving the production quality of photovoltaic devices through AI-based process monitoring.
